Is it too late to join the PTSO?

  • No, its not.  You may join our organization at any time during the school year by completing a membership form and returning it to our Vice Presidents.

What are PTSO Membership Dues?

  • Membership in the PTSO is $15 for families.  This is the only fundraiser we do all year, so we really count on your support to help fund all of our programs.

What is the fundraiser for the PTSO?

  • Our fundraiser is our membership card.  Currently, we don't sell any other items to support our organization.  100% of the proceeds from your membership card stays right here at IMS.

If I'm a member of another PTO in the district, do I need to join this PTSO?

  • Yes.  PTO's retain 100% of their membership dues and operate independently of one another, unlike a PTA. We encourage parents to participate in the PTO or PTA at each of their children's schools.  It is a great way to not only be involved in your child's education, but to keep yourself up-to-date with current and future plans for our school district and individual buildings.

What kind of things does the PTSO provide for our school?

  • We fund and staff many activities for our students including Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week in October,  the BOLD & GOLD programs in the winter and Special Day in the spring for our 8th grade.  We also lend our support to the 7th and 8th grade socials, provide communication tools between school and home such as this web site, our newsletters and our student directory, and we recognize our great staff with our annual staff appreciation week.

How can I contact someone to volunteer?

  • You can contact any officer of the PTSO by emailing them directly from our Committees Page.  We'll be happy to answer your questions and help you get in touch with the committees you'd like to join. There are opportunities for moms and dads, as well as day time and evening activities that can only be a success with the efforts of our volunteers!

How do I suggest contact information for the web site?

  • You can do this in one of two ways:  Either go to the Contact Info page and complete the prompts, or return to our Home page and click on the green Submit button on the left hand column.  This will put you in touch with our webmaster.
Homework Help

The HOTT (Homework Overtime Team) is a program open to students of every academic level who want to increase the self-discipline needed to complete their assignments.

HOTT meets after school on Mondays and Thursdays and there is a special HOTT bus to transport the students home at 4:00.

HOTT students meet in the cafeteria after school for a snack and then head to the library to work on new or incomplete assignments. The sessions are staffed by teachers and peer tutors.

You may contact Mrs. Girman at ext. 1126.
