PTSO Officers 2008-2009 Homework Help The HOTT (Homework Overtime Team) is a program open to students of every academic level who want to increase the self-discipline needed to complete their assignments. HOTT meets after school on Mondays and Thursdays and there is a special HOTT bus to transport the students home at 4:00. HOTT students meet in the cafeteria after school for a snack and then head to the library to work on new or incomplete assignments. The sessions are staffed by teachers and peer tutors.          You may contact           Mrs. Girman at ext. 1126.

Is it too late to join the PTSO?

  • · No, its not. You may join our organization at any time during the school year by completing a membership form (downloadable on the Home Page) and returning it to the IMS school office.

What are PTSO Membership Dues?

  • · Membership in the IMS PTSO is $15 for families. The PTSO is dedicated to providing each child at IMS fun and educational opportunities that will help them grow into the best young adults they can be. Our current budget for the activities it is involved with is approximately $15,000. The majority of these activities are funded through your paid membership dues. One hundred percent of the proceeds from your membership stay right here at IMS. So please consider becoming a member by clicking on the membership form on the Home Page.

How do I sign up for IMS PTSO News ONLine?

  • · To join the IMS PTSO News ONLine mailing list return to the Home Page. Scroll to the bottom and enter your e-mail address in the box and click on either the "GO" or "Submit" buttons and become part of our online mailing list.

If I'm a member of another PTO in the district, do I need to join this PTSO?

  • · Yes. PTO's retain 100% of their membership dues and operate independently of one another, unlike a PTA. We encourage parents to participate in the PTO or PTA at each of their children's schools. It is a great way to not only be involved in your child's education, but to keep yourself up-to-date with current and future plans for our school district and individual buildings.

What kind of things does the PTSO provide for our school?

  • · We fund and staff many activities for our students including Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Week in October, the BOLD & GOLD programs in the winter and Special Day in the spring for our 8th graders, and in April we fund and provide Testing Week Snacks. We also provide communication tools between school and home such as this website, IMS PTSO News ONLine, and our student directory. We also recognize our great staff with our annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon in May.

How can I contact someone to volunteer?

  • · You can email Leslie Poe tpoe1@verizon.net I will be happy to answer your questions and help you get in touch with the committees you'd like to join. There are opportunities for moms and dads, as well as day time and evening activities that can only be a success with the efforts of our volunteers.

How do I suggest contact information for the web site?

  • · Go to the Contact Info page and complete the prompts. Then submit the comments.
